Thanks. Looks like zombie67 and SUSA will be the first team to reach 1M milestone soon.

Re: My first epyc build
Icecold With BIOS 2.1, the bifurcation option is in the Advanced -> PCIe/PCI/PnP Configuration menu. What BIOS version you have on the 2P epyc? Currently I have no plan to add gpus to this board. Can do PCIE_x4 which is still very fast. Yeah it is a waste with so many PCIE lanes that I don't really...

Re: Einstein - Improved apps for nvidia cards
Awesome. Looks like my Radeon VII is now only good for MW project (other than ETH mining). Not very clear about the crunching/power efficiency, maybe a slight edge in Radeon VII versus 3080 Ti which consumes humongous power and rated at 350W.

Re: Multiple GPU build ideas
I have another Asrock X99M Killer Fatal1ty with Haswell xeon. I can check that later.
I'm guessing it is the workstation or the server board that supports the bifurcation.

Icecold , Skillz , Updated Asrock X99 bios to latest 3.80. Navigate from "Advanced" → "Chipset Configuration" menu, I see no option to change the PCIE attributes within the Chipset Configuration menu. Let me know if I missed out something. Chipset1.png Chipset2.png PCIE.png

EVGA RTX 3070 Ti Queue

Re: Multiple GPU build ideas
I can't find anything about bifurcation on the asrock x99 extreme4 in the manual which you can download here: https://download.asrock.com/Manual/X99%20Extreme4.pdf . Can do 3 GPUs full lanes with the xeon E5-2697v3 that I have on the MB at x16, x16 and x8. The other PCIE2 can only do pcie2.0 x 4. Th...

Icecold , I think the list or the info posted by atp1916 may be in the [H]DC private forum strategy which no longer accessible when Kyle migrated to a new web layout or something. Skillz originally set this up. Knowing Kyle he doesn't seem to have any interest in bringing this private forum back. W...

Re: Multiple GPU build ideas
@Skillz , you should have bought the Asus X79 Pro that came with CPU and RAM from me. You can run 4 PCIE lanes with 1x16 and 3x8.
I've two X99 Asrock motherboards which I only bring them on during challenge since they suck so much power. One is Extreme 4 the other is X99M Fatal1ty.

Re: Low power video card
I have 3 GT710s which I swapped out the high end cards when running CPU only for more than a few weeks. It saves about 5W compare to 1080ti, iirc. This translates to about 840Whr per week of power savings. With three PCs that's about 2.5kWhr. I think GT 710 is the most efficient card for a desktop. ...

Re: Running Linux VM under Windows, performance hit?
I started with virtualbox and then switched to windows hyper-v. Did see some improvement due to hyper-v been closer to bare metal. See article here: https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/virtualbox-vs-vmware-vs-hyper-v/ . I ran Universe with Ubuntu 20.04 with hyper-V when I'm lazy to swap out the SSD. All m...

Not much to say about myself. Some may know me by this name in various DC forums. Not that old (just a guess ;) ) as OrangeKid and still doing a 9-to-5 job but looking to retire in the next few years, hopefully (with 10 fingers crossed). Started DC with folding@home in 2011 then decided to join BOIN...
